i'm glad i was able to find this salute photo, just like Bryan to give it his all and use 2 hands. This guy meant a lot to me, from talking micro's at the frolic, to texting him the what i dubbed "rockstar photo" after he won his chili bowl prelim, i was always happy to see bryan, and show him the moments i captured. His light heartedness, kindness, and true joy of life always showed through. this photo was taken in ocala florida on the second night of racing for the usac opener. the first night he should have one the feature but motor problems sidelined him, even after that while i was walking around the pits you could see him smiling and talking to everyone. i stopped at his trailer and snapped some photos of him getting ready and buckelig in when he looked up and shot me 2 birds with a huge smile. i think the smile i gave him back was just as big. i don't think i ever expected bryan to give me the salute but he knew how much it meant to me to have these kinds of photos. later on he came up to me and said that he always seen dave do it, and just about everyone else, and he had to make sure i knew how much he appreciated me. that truly meant the world to me. he was our Sena, our Earnhardt, he was the best. Put him in any car, and you know you've got a good shot to win that night. The most feared person on the track, and the most loved off the track. Bryan will forever be a champion. I'm just glad the took a little piece of that life to get to know me. I'll never forget our time spent together, and i thank you for this photo. It really means a lot. I've had a lot of people give me the finger over the years, but none with a smile quite as big as yours.
