Every year around this time, this photo pops up on my time hop. I’m pretty proud of this photo. My first year taking photos and BC decided to use this as a gift for his car owner and crew chief. He brought it to the race at duquoin to give to them, and I remember him tracking me down saying hey, I have your canvas. It turned out great. You gotta see it! I loved it. I asked if I could take a photo of him with it. I said, can I take a photo of you with it and post it? He said of course! Today I posted quite a few photos of canvas’ I had done for people, and then I posted this one in my story, the one I was most proud of. Where the most people would see it. Now I’m a monster for using BC to advertise my work. I just don’t get it. If I would have used a watermark with .com after it, or even used it as a sponsored post with BCforever as the caption like other photographers do I wouldn’t be in this mess. I should have just posted something about how much I love this photo of BC with a canvas he bought from me, like I do every year, instead of including my website on it. I took down all my BC stuff from my website. I had a lot of photos up in an album that you could buy at cost of the print (I made nothing) and before that I’m glad to say that Megan and I were able to use some sales of prints of him a couple years ago to donate to a charity. I promise though, this is the last you’ll see me post about him. Even though He meant a lot to me. He always told me when I fucked up, and always patted me on the back when I did a good job. No matter what, he was always nice to me. I wish more people could be so understanding and be more like BC. He helped me in a lot of ways. I guess this is just his way of continue into to help me. You learn more from your mistakes then you ever do your successes, and I learned something today. I guess I fucked up. Not the first time, and won’t be the last, but, that’s part of learning. Not every lap is perfect. Not everyone is perfect, but we can all do our best every day.
